Meet President Storey
Amy Storey was appointed interim President of Keuka College in 2018 and named permanent president in 2019. She is the 20th person – and third woman – to lead the 135-year-old institution. President Storey’s accomplishments over the past seven years include leading the College through the COVID pandemic, securing academic partnerships with a dozen different colleges and universities across the state, strengthening the College’s financial stability, completing its largest-ever capital campaign, and implementing College-wide wellness initiatives, which was partially inspired by her personal journey battling breast cancer.
Her tenure has been marked by advocacy for innovative ways to promote and support student accomplishment, such as the Keuka College Expo, a forum for scholarly and creative student achievements made during Field Period experiences. She has also redefined the College’s core values with a focus on prioritizing student success.
In addition, President Storey has been a forceful voice in support of education, health, and safety whose essays have appeared both regionally (the Finger Lakes Times) and nationally (USA Today), and she has also shared her perspective on air on WXXI’s Connections with Evan Dawson.
President Storey previously served as the College’s vice president for Advancement and External Affairs, a role in which she led a branding overhaul that contributed to three of the largest incoming classes in Keuka College’s history, helped secure more than $30 million in support of the College’s programs and mission, and has stewarded seven consecutive budget surpluses. She continues to function as one of the College’s chief fundraisers.
President Storey is an engaged public servant and community volunteer who currently sits on the boards of the Finger Lakes Economic Development Center, the Finger Lakes Horizon Economic Development Corp., the Yates County Capital Resource Corp., Rochester Area Colleges, and the Association of Southeast Asian Institutions of Higher Learning (ASAIHL).
In November 2023, she co-presented “Habits of Mind and Body for Professional and Personal Longevity” at a Credo + American Association of Colleges and Universities (AAC&U) Women in Leadership Institute conference. She is also a past president of the Palmyra Community Center and has served as a panelist for the American Council on Education (ACE) Women’s Network.
President Storey obtained her bachelor’s degree from the Binghamton University School of Management. She lives on Keuka Lake in the Lucina on the campus of Keuka College with her husband, Alan, and is the mother of two children.
